MY EDUCATIONAL CONSULTING & THERAPY PRACTICE

My Therapeutic Approach

I teach students to cope with academic challenges, advocate for themselves, build self-confidence, and envision educational paths best suited to their needs. My focus is on your student’s neurodiversity – their particular way of taking in the world. I help students identify and address emotional issues that may be caused by learning differences, and teach them strategies to increase focus and improve work habits.

I am often a link between students, teachers, other specialists, parents, and schools. Together, your student and I develop a plan, track progress, and adjust from there as we find the best ways for them to reach their highest potential.

College & the Future

I work with all students on post-secondary planning, but my specialty is in assisting students with learning differences as they leave high school.

If the student is college-bound, we research schools that will support their special needs; create lists of schools to visit live and virtually; draft college application essays; and eventually complete the application together.

If the student is researching Gap Years or Careers, we explore internships, jobs, and classes focused on their current interests, with an eye toward job growth and/or future return to college.
