EDUCATIONAL THERAPY

Who I See

-Students 14 and older who have been labelled:

-Learning disabled;

-Gifted;

-“On the autism spectrum”; OR

-Diagnosed with mood disorders such as anxiety or depression, especially when those issues have affected their academic performance; OR

-Kids entering new and more challenging school settings; and

Seniors with separation (or application, or other) anxiety about all that happens next.

How I Help Them

-I teach strengths-based self-awareness of all the things your child has done well in life, even if school has been a chronic challenge;

-I encourage emotional resilience by helping kids understand that they will change, in one way or another, so it may as well be positive change!;

-Together, we home in on key interests that may spur action – and concentration and study – that you have never seen in your student before;

-Your child and I explore the benefits of self-advocacy and independence skills by practicing mock conversations with teachers and trial runs of job interviews;

-I coordinate with other professionals and schools to take some of the burden off parents who may be managing multiple IEPs, medication plans, and emotions—daily.

-I work in person, on Zoom, and by phone.
